J. David Peña serves as Of Counsel to The Legal Team, where he focuses on business immigration, nationality, and international business law. With more than three decades of experience, Mr. Peña represents foreign individuals, families, and corporations seeking to immigrate to the United States or establish business operations here.

His practice spans immigration compliance, visa processing, corporate structuring, and cross-border investment. Mr. Peña is well-versed in proceedings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Labor, and the U.S. Department of State. He regularly handles employment-based visas, consular processing, and removal defense, and he is highly experienced in helping companies navigate employer sanctions and ICE investigations.

Mr. Peña previously served as legal counsel to the Mexican and Colombian Embassies in Washington, D.C., the Mexican Consulate in Miami, and as special legal counsel to the Florida International Affairs Commission. He has also represented the United States government in both domestic and international matters, giving him a unique perspective on global legal frameworks.

An accomplished speaker, Mr. Peña has lectured widely throughout the U.S. and South America on topics related to immigration, real estate, and international business. He has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin’s Summer Law Program and at Universidad Sergio Arboleda in Bogotá, Colombia.
