The Legal Team has created a focused Cuba platform to assist U.S. and foreign companies navigate the intricacies of the regulatory environments in both countries.  Our team’s work is beyond just legal services, and instead helps clients deal with the political and logistical issues associated with doing business in Cuba.  Our managing partner was born in Cuba and attended his first year of law school there, which allows our clients to utilize his knowledge and understanding of the culture, language, and history of the island.

To maximize our ability to assist our clients, The Legal Team partnered with Cancio Consulting Group, led by Hugo Cancio.  Mr. Cancio is an internationally renowned expert on the Cuban business environment and culture.  In his non-attorney role, Mr. Cancio has become one of the most preeminent advisors and consultants on U.S.-Cuban political and economic relations and has advised several Fortune 500 companies on doing business with/in Cuba.  For example, Mr. Cancio advised and facilitated Norwegian Cruise Lines Holdings Ltd.’s entry into the Cuban market and assisted the cruise line with the creation of its land operations on the island.  With his assistance, Cuba became Norwegian’s number one passenger rated destination in the world in 2017.
