Omar Ali-Shamaa serves as Of-Counsel to The Legal Team, PLLC. He is the founder and managing partner of Ali-Shamaa Law, PLLC. Omar practices primarily in the area of business litigation, corporate law, and business transactions.

Omar represents both individuals and businesses in all areas of general litigation, with a focus on complex commercial matters, shareholder disputes, employment-related matters, landlord-tenant, and contractual disputes.

As a restaurant owner and consultant, Omar has first-hand experience of the complexities and intricacies of running a successful business on a micro and macro level. He regularly advises businesses on day-to-day issues and procedures. Omar also represents businesses in corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and asset sales, corporate governance, corporate formation and restructuring, negotiation of commercial leases, and general contracting drafting and review.

Omar began his career at multiple prestigious boutique law firms, where he advocated on behalf of individuals and institutional clients in the hospitality and entertainment industry, as well as high-net-worth individuals, celebrities, and professional athletes.

While in law school, Omar was a senior staff member of the FIU Law Review and received the Book Award in Real Estate Transactions, and was on the Dean’s List every semester.   Omar was also a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution team, where he finished as the number one ranked negotiator in the United States in the 2014-2015 American Bar Association Negotiation Competition.

Omar has been recognized by the Daily Business Review: On The Rise and South Florida’s Best Lawyers – Ones to Watch. He was born in New York and has lived and traveled throughout the Middle East and Europe. He is fluent in Arabic.
