Indra Cantillo Mejuto brings a global legal perspective to The Legal Team’s international advisory and litigation practice. Serving as Of Counsel, she focuses on cross-border transactions, foreign investment structuring, regulatory compliance, and strategic dispute resolution.
With more than a decade of public- and private-sector experience, Indra has advised on high-level trade policy and international negotiations involving U.S. entities such as Engage Cuba, D17 Strategies, Cargill, Marriott, ASCOA, WeWork, Rimco, and The Meyers Group. Her collaborations also extended to the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, the D.C. Department of Small and Local Business Development, and OFAC-related regulatory matters.
As part of the Cuban Committee of Foreign Investment, she participated in the legal oversight of significant capital projects, including the Mariel Special Economic Development Zone—a US $957 million joint venture between Cuba and Brazil—and contributed to the reform of Cuba’s Foreign Investment Law in 2014.
Her work included reviewing foreign capital proposals, negotiating joint ventures, and ensuring compliance with international investment standards.
Before establishing her own practice, Indra was an associate at a Florida litigation firm, where she represented clients in commercial disputes and business tort matters. Her litigation experience spans contract claims, negligence actions, unjust enrichment, fraud litigation, expert coordination, motion practice, discovery management, and settlement strategy.
